The sky was a beautiful baby blue hue. Far better than what it had been only a day before when storm clouds had rolled through. Instead of darkened ones, fluffy white clouds were scattered about the sky. Not that these were things Seto normally noticed anyway. And even in these abnormal times, he still noticed not. His mind wandered to many other topics, most of which he would rather not disclose. He merely walked about the city from time to time when he felt to cramped in his room or needed space or just felt like fresh air to clear his head. This was one such time.
Noa was also walking around the city, for similar reasons. He wasn't watching where he was going, and bumped into someone on the sidewalk. "Excuse m- oh."
Seto was jolted out of his thoughts and was about to growl at whoever the wise ass who wasn't watching where they were going was when he realized that there was something terribly familiar about that turquoise hair. He gaped stupidly for a moment before getting his mouth working. "...NOA?!"
The boy blinked, and shrunk back slightly. "H.. hello, Seto..." He murmured. "Um... sorry?"
"...What the HELL are you doing here?! Weren't you...you know...more on the DEAD side...?"
"Well, I WAS." He bit his lip. He really didn't want to get in the way of an angry Seto...
Seto crossed his arms. "But you're back. How? And why?"
Noa poked his fingers together. "A rather questionable Millennium Item. By Yami. The crackhead one."
"...Ah." His gaze darkened. "THAT one. So..." he started a bit awkwardly--really, what was one to say to someone who'd been dead to you for a while now? And someone you didn't even like?--"...how are...things going for you..?"
Erk. "Um... fine. I guess..." He blinked. "Um... you?" Boy, this was awkward.
"....Fine..." Of course, most people would know this to be a lie, though whether Noa knew this or not, he didn't know. "Things have been going...just...fine..."
Noa smiled, shaking his head. "So I see..."
"Where are you staying?" Seto questioned. "This is the first I've seen you around, obviously."
"At the Mutou's..." He muttered, suddenly staring at the ground.
"Why am I not surprised at that..." he mumbled to himself. Seto sighed. "I should have figured Yuugi and the like would have let you in with open arms. Hm. They always were far more forgiving."
"Mm, I suppose so." He glanced up at Seto, and looked away again. ...I just... he won't forget... or forgive...
"I trust you're staying out of trouble?" continued Seto, still at a bit of a loss at what to say.
"Trying to." The green-haired boy muttered. Yeah, I guess you could classify that as 'trouble'...
"Who else knows?" He then reiterated. "Knows about you being...alive again, that is? Does Mokuba know?"
"Well... the crackhead Yami, calm Yuugi, and Pegasus, and now you."
"OH?" One of the names certainly caught his attention. "And tell me, why does PEGASUS know?"
"Because... because I ran into him." Noa twitched slightly. Hooboy...
"Kind of like with me, I suppose?" snorted Seto. "You know, I thought I remembered hearing something about him and mentioning YOU..."
"Oh... really?" This was getting really awkward and uncomfortable...
"Something about having tea? And I got the distinct impression there was more to it than that." Seto wrinkled his nose at the thought. "But I'm not going to pry."
"Good, because then I won't pry about your little visit, forced though it was."
This silenced Seto for quite a few moments. "...I'm sorry...WHAT was that...?"
"Well, I suppose pretty much everyone does know now." Noa leaned against a building, trying to restrain a Seto-like smirk. Which would have been very scary.
"...Ah." Seto's posture stiffened. This conversation was falling out of his favor. "I wasn't sure if you were aware of what had..happened."
"Yes... I am."
"..Am I to assume HE told you?" Seto shifted uncomfortably.
"Um... yes." Noa winced.
"Bastard," he muttered under his breath. "Well..." He cleared his throat. "I suppose...since that's out of the way..." Again, he cleared his throat, unsure of what to say.
"...And don't worry. I'm not out for revenge or anything." He shook his head. "I don't even really want to bother you. Perhaps actually try to have a semi-normal life this time around."
"...Good...for you. I'd appreciate you not bothering me, really."
"Yes. Well... um..." Noa blinked. "Perhaps... I should... be going... unless there's something else you want to say to me..."
Seto already started walking away. "Not that I really wanted to say anything to you in the FIRST place..."
"...I was just saying." Noa started to head in the opposite direction. "I always told my father I didn't want any brothers. Did he listen? Nuuu..." The boy muttered under his breath.
