Omega19x: "He's quite lucky. If something like that should have happened while you were out at sea."

Omega19x: "That heart condition needs to be managed. I don't know how long he's had it, but it's quite dangerous. And his left lung completely collapsed."

Omega19x: "They're repairing the damage now. They don't have the foggiest idea what caused it, but he'll have a chest tube in for several days at least, until everything heals."
fai tiger: "So, how long will he need to stay here?"
Omega19x: "No to mention the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. His heart is quite erratic."
Omega19x: "Probably about a week, if there aren't any complications from surgery."
Omega19x: "He's lucky he didn't just go into cardiac arrest."
fai tiger: "...Er, is it going to be a problem that we aren't American citizens?"
Omega19x: "You're tourists, and you have all your current papers. That shouldn't be a problem. The travel agency will help you make arrangements to stay longer if you wish."
fai tiger: "I meant paying for all this."
Omega19x: "And we can just fax the bill to Mr. Bakura in Japan."

Omega19x: " The Centers of Disease Control are checking up on the sample... And we should have a full report on that by morning."

Omega19x: "So far, doctors say it's not a true bacterium or virus. And it's completely black. For the time being, only one person has fallen ill, and they are calling the infection Aquilus morbus.
fai tiger: "Basically, the ship physician is going around talking about the freaky stuff he found in Ryou's body."
ph33r my rod: "..." *facepalm*
Omega19x: Translates to 'black sickness.' I bet that name isn't going to stick with the politically correct."
Omega19x: "There were reports of such a disease being found in Japan earlier last month, but they were roughly dismissed until this second case sprung up so far away."
Omega19x: "However, the CDC informs us that they do not believe they are looking at a new epidemic, as only those two cases have been reported."
Omega19x: "And as the one in Japan suggests, it is not easily communicable."
Omega19x: "And now with sports..." *blah blah blah*
fai tiger: "And now they are babbling about this same thing being in Japan. I wonder how long it will take for them to realize that they're looking at only one case, rather than two."

Omega19x: "When you go in, be mindful of the chest tube on the left side. We had to put his broken arm in traction just so it wouldn't accidently hit it."
fai tiger: *relays to Malik*
Omega19x: "He should be waking up now, but he might be a little out of it."

Omega19x: "The doctors say he's very lucky. He could have easily died were these problems not treated now."

Omega19x: (that's what they said that time my grandma was in the ICU. We got about 20 people in there at a time)

Omega19x: *Ryou is lying half-dazed in the bed. There is a chest tube, sticking out of one of the incisions. His chest is bare, and covered with freshly stitched lines.*
Omega19x: *You can even see something has been implanted just under his skin. It's probably not too noticable once the puffyness around the incision goes down*
Omega19x: *multiple IV lines, lots of monitors. Malik should be used to the setup of an ICU room by now...*
