Omega19x: *Mahaado returns at the familiar dwelling of Rishid and his room mate Honda. He knocks on the door respectfully. It is early evening.*
fai tiger: *Honda is just moving a set of files, when he hears a knock at the door.*
fai tiger: *glances at cats* "No, I haven't a clue who it'd be either." *walks to door, pulls it open*
Omega19x: "Honda, may I please come in?"
fai tiger: "Um, sure." *steps aside*
fai tiger: "See anything interesting today?"
Omega19x: "I seem to have gotten lost, in my adventures around town. I was unable to locate Mana or the 'cyber-cafe' she is said to frequent."
fai tiger: "Yeah, I haven't been able to find that particular cafe either. You wouldn't find Mana there anyways, she's at the hospital right now."
Omega19x: "Though, for a moment, I thought... at the hospital?"
Omega19x: "That is your healers' quarters, is it not?"
Omega19x: *is suddenly quite concerned* "What has happened to Mana? Has she been stricken ill? Has she been injured?"
fai tiger: "Um, yeah, she got hurt...yesterday, I think."
Omega19x: "What happened?"
fai tiger: "There's this psycho that people are calling Shadow running around."
fai tiger: "Basically, he hurts random people."
Omega19x: "Such a fiend must have an evil spirit lurking within him. Especially to hurt someone as innocent as Mana."
fai tiger: "...That is one theory about him."
Omega19x: "What do you know of this Shadow?"
fai tiger: *fidget nervously* "Um, not much."
fai tiger: "There's not much consistency to the attacks."
fai tiger: "Some attacks seem rather planned, others look like crimes of conveniency."
Omega19x: "There have been many attacks?"
fai tiger: "Oh, yeah. Way too many."
Omega19x: "Whomever is in charge of your kingdom's security needs to reexamine their tactics."
fai tiger: "...Yeah, a lot of people have said things like that."
fai tiger: "A bunch of people have decided to take matters into their own hands recently."
Omega19x: "If I had my sennen ring, I might be able to at least sense the evil one's presence. But sadly, I could not find that either."
fai tiger: *sweatdrop* "...Uh, right."
Omega19x: "I am greatly concerned. After all, my own apprentice was attacked. And hearing of her fate, it seems her magic was not strong enough of a defense."
fai tiger: "Maybe she didn't get a chance to attack? Sometimes Shadow sneaks up on people."
fai tiger: "I don't really have an answer to that."
fai tiger: "In the meantime, are you also going to decide to join the vigilanties hunting down Shadow?"
Omega19x: "I wonder if the thief is somehow involved. It doesn't appear to be his style, sneaking around, but a lot has happened since I last encountered Bakura."
fai tiger: "No, I don't think it's him. He was going around threatening to kill Shadow if he finds him, last I heard."
Omega19x: "To think that the wicked thief and I would agree on something, I can scarcely believe it."
fai tiger: "Um, yeah." *tries to think of new topic*
Omega19x: "Though, I have learned that there are at least four Bakurae running around in this world. And apparently a couple of pharaohs."
fai tiger: "I've heard something like that too. I've only met one 'pharaoh' though."
Omega19x: "Pardon, apparently they are modern incarnations of his majesty, the pharaoh."
fai tiger: "...Okay."
fai tiger: "I gave up trying to figure out how many of various people are running around Domino."
fai tiger: "Anyone else you want to find?"
Omega19x: "Today, I thought I saw the pharaoh, even. I passed by a strange merchant shop, and thought for a moment I had seen my pharaoh inside."
fai tiger: "What kind of merchant shop was it?"
Omega19x: "There were many small portable monster tablets in the window. It must have been a Monster shop, I suppose. But there were other mere trinkets as well."
fai tiger: *nod blankly* "...I see. Anything else look familiar?"
Omega19x: "How such powerful monsters could be contained in tiny slips of papyri, I do not understand. But that is what I saw."
Omega19x: "It appears if you wish to control monsters, you do not summon them from tombs, but you buy them? Am I correct in this deduction?"
fai tiger: "I don't completely understand it either, but I think that's how it works."
fai tiger: "I don't think you're buying the monsters themselves though."
Omega19x: "no?"
fai tiger: "Think of it more as games or practice battles, where the risks are usually much lower and therefore don't have real monsters involved."
Omega19x: "training for shadow games?"
Omega19x: "What a useful thought."
fai tiger: "Er...maybe."
fai tiger: "Like I said, I don't really understand it."
fai tiger: "So, what else did you see while you were wandering around?"
Omega19x: "The metal monsters are quite troublesome."
fai tiger: *nods, tries not to laugh* "Yes, I suppose they are."
Omega19x: "I walked too close to one, and it screeched such awful cries at me. I thought they only did that if they were awake. But this one happened to be sleeping, or so I thought."
fai tiger: "Yeah, some people put alarms on them. Really bothersome."
Omega19x: "They seem so vicious, and yet everyone in this world seems to have tamed at least one."
Omega19x: "Is it some sort of right of passage?"
fai tiger: "No, some people don't have a car, so I don't think you can call it a right of passage or anything."
fai tiger: "I should probably point out to you that cars aren't alive, not like people or animals are."
Omega19x: "They seemed quite alive to me."
Omega19x: "Are they creations of magic?"
fai tiger: "I guess it depends on what you mean by alive...er, not exactly, more like technology than magic."
fai tiger: "Though I guess technology and magic are pretty similar to you."
Omega19x: "Like Rishid's 'computer' that you showed me. Is that more correct?"
fai tiger: "...Right, that's technology."
fai tiger: "Televisions too."
Omega19x: "Technology."
Omega19x: "Is that your world's word for magic?"
fai tiger: "No, not exactly. We still have the idea of magic...sorta."
Omega19x: "Oh. Technology is a kind of magic, then? Such as spellcasting, or potions, or amulet crafting?"
fai tiger: "...Do you have the concept of science? That's more what people these days consider technology to be part of."
Omega19x: "I knew many who practiced alchemy, and worked with metals. That is sort of like your 'science' if I am not mistaken."
fai tiger: "Yeah...I guess so. Though, potions kinda fit with the modern idea of science too."
fai tiger: "It's confusing, so don't ask me to explain how it's divided up."
Omega19x: "Maybe they are not that different, your 'science' and my magic."
fai tiger: "Maybe not. I never really looked at it that way before now."
fai tiger: "You don't have to understand technology and science to make use of them, not really."
fai tiger: "What's the next thing you wanna talk about or have me to try to explain?"
Omega19x: "Oh, you have already been most kind in your explanations. Is there anything I can do to repay your generosity?"
fai tiger: *long pause* "No, I can't think of anything. I'm not sure what you'd be offering anyways."
Omega19x: "Sadly, I do not know what I could offer. Do you have need of any magical services?"
fai tiger: "...I don't think I do."
fai tiger: "Sorry, I'm not very good at favor and such."
fai tiger: "Anything I could think of would probably not be under magically abilities or be just impossible."
Omega19x: "I am handy with tinctures and herbal teas, if you require any of those. Though, I do not have any of my usual ingredients."
Omega19x: "I do not often write and utilize powerful spells unless there is great need, but I know many magical talents."
fai tiger: "Um, no, that's okay, I don't think I need those."
fai tiger: "If I think of anything you could help me with, I'll let you know, 'kay? Any idea where you're going to stay on a permanent basis?"
Omega19x: "That was one of the reasons why I was searching out my apprentice."
fai tiger: "I guess I could show you the way to the hospital tomorrow so you can see her, if you'd like."
Omega19x: "That would be much appreciated, Honda."
fai tiger: "You're welcome."
fai tiger: "Um, I guess it'd be okay for you to spend the night here again. I don't think Rishid would mind you staying another night."

Omega19x: "I looked for other places to stay. However, it seems that this world will only barter with you if you have tiny green slips of papyri."
fai tiger: "Uh, yeah, that's a bit of a problem."
Omega19x: "I am afraid I cannot conjure up such tokens."
fai tiger: "Probably for the best. People don't like it if money comes out of nowhere."
Omega19x: "Then how is it acquired? If it is not magically created?"
fai tiger: "You'll probably have to find someone who'll hire you, in order to get money the conventional way."
fai tiger: *figures suggesting stealing is out of the question*
fai tiger: "That's the only reason I have a job, so that I can get money."
Omega19x: "Ah, services are done in exchange for money."
fai tiger: "Right...wasn't it kinda like that in your time too?"
Omega19x: "For the merchant class. But I was trained for the priesthood when I was but a child. We had many things provided for us."
Omega19x: "I am not well accustomed to such custom, though it is not completely foreign to me."
fai tiger: *nod* "Okay."
fai tiger: "I'm not sure what kinda of job you could get here, since you don't know much of the cultural norms."
Omega19x: "Are sorcerers in high demand?"
fai tiger: "I...I don't think so."
fai tiger: "List off some specific skills, and I'll tell you if I know of any jobs that ask for em."
Omega19x: "All right."
Omega19x: "Spell writer and caster. Controlling of evil. Herbal potions and healing. Palace security. Instructor of magical arts."
fai tiger: "Hm, I don't think I know of any jobs needing spell casting or writing, per say."
fai tiger: "...Controlling evil? Can't think of anything."
fai tiger: "Healing...maybe. They usually want you to have proof of schooling in healing though."
fai tiger: "Security...also a maybe."
Omega19x: "A task, however, that is difficult without my sennen ring."
Omega19x: "Though, the protection of the pharaoh was my first priority at all times."
fai tiger: "Ah, probably not the kinda job for you now."
fai tiger: "Um, don't think there's a big demand for magical arts instruction. Mana's probably the only student you'll have in Domino."
Omega19x: "Perhaps I should wander again tomorrow, with the intention of finding someone interested in my services."
Omega19x: "Where do you provide services?"
fai tiger: "Um, usually you would go talk to people that are hiring, but I'm not so sure in your case..."
Omega19x: "You personally, I mean?

fai tiger: "Oh. I work at the Kaiba mansion right now, but..."
Omega19x: "Kaiba? I heard of a Mokuba Kaiba. Is this the same person?"
fai tiger: "Yeah, that would be him. It's actually his brother's mansion though."
Omega19x: "He 'commented' on one of my journals. Yes, Rishid taught me how those work. He seems to be one of your kingdom's nobility, or so he is leading me to believe."
fai tiger: "Yeah, he is. Though the idea of nobility isn't quite the same here."
Omega19x: "He is not an heir to the throne, he mentioned that to me. Although he suggested I worship him just the same."
Omega19x: "I do not understand. He does not appear to be a god."
fai tiger: "That's just his inflated ego. Ignore him, I generally do."
fai tiger: "He thinks someday he'll take over the world, and most people don't bother to point out that he'll never succede."
Omega19x: "A trecherous thought. The only ruler is my lord the pharaoh."
fai tiger: "...Right."
fai tiger: "Anyways, maybe you should focus on what you'll do about a job for the time being."
Omega19x: "What does Mokuba Kaiba hire you to do?"
fai tiger: "Right now it's cleaning. I'm not sure how long he'll keep me around, though."
Omega19x: "You are a servent?"
fai tiger: "...Sort of. Social class distinctions and stuff aren't the same anymore."
fai tiger: "I can leave and go to a higher class job if I find one I want to do."
Omega19x: "Ah. So it can change."
Omega19x: "Interesting."
fai tiger: "Yeah, class can change a lot. Some places more than others, but still probably more than you're used to."
fai tiger: "I'm not really sure what you could do for a job...I'd advise against working for Mokuba, though."
fai tiger: (hold on, I'll be back in about ten minutes)

fai tiger: "Well, like I said, usually you would go talk to people that are hiring. They sometimes advertise in newspapers and such about job openings. There's also job recruitment offices, or whatever they're called, but they don't like me much."
fai tiger: "...Er, and you should probably have someone you know go with you."
fai tiger: "I'm not sure how people would take you talking about magic and all, either, since modern ideas of magic aren't the same as yours."
Omega19x: "So I have gathered from our conversations."
fai tiger: "Some people aren't as...open-minded about it."
fai tiger: "Who else do you know that could go to job stuff with you, to help you understand what people mean?"
Omega19x: "Again, I need to find my apprentice. Mana would gladly come to my aid in this matter."
fai tiger: "...I'm not sure how much help she'd be, since I don't know if she completely understands this world either."
Omega19x: "Most dissatisfying. This shall prove to be an interesting challenge."
fai tiger: *shrugs* "I don't know her that well. Maybe she understand perfectly fine by now."
Omega19x: "Surely some will require my talents. I was the most esteemed sorcerer in all of the surrounding kingdoms."
Omega19x: "I just need to find someone that does, that is all."
fai tiger: "Like I said, modern ideas of magic aren't the same as yours. I doubt you'll find many people who'll say that they're looking for a sorcerer, persay."
fai tiger: "You'll have to figure out how to explain your skils in more modern terms."
Omega19x: "I am not entirely sure if there are compatible terms."
fai tiger: "Therein lies the difficulty."
Omega19x: "What do you call a sorcerer in your kingdom?"
fai tiger: "...I have no idea. We don't really use the term any more."
Omega19x: "How about a spell caster? Or a spell writer? What corresponding terms do you have for that part of my duties?"
fai tiger: "...I have no idea about those either."
Omega19x: "Do you not use spells of any kind?"
fai tiger: "If people do, I don't know about it."
fai tiger: "Technology has kinda pushed the idea of magic as most people see it off to the side."
Omega19x: "Do you use any potions in your world?"
fai tiger: "I suppose, though most of those are generally called medicines or drugs I think."
Omega19x: "Are there people who make these 'medicines' from your world's plants, then?"
fai tiger: "Yeah, I guess you could do something like that. I don't have much experience with that kinda stuff."
Omega19x: "I wasn't one of the palace's top healers, but I made a number of herbal potions during my time as high priest."
fai tiger: "...Okay. You'll have to ask someone else to help you figure out where to go to see about that."
Omega19x: "Hm. I do not suppose you have people who perform sacred rituals, ward of evil ka, and things of that nature, do you?
fai tiger: "Since I'm not sure what you're talking about, probably not. If there are such people, they must call it something else."
fai tiger: "...Maybe you should be asking Rishid this kinda stuff instead."
Omega19x: "I apologize. Thank you for your assistance. It is most valuable."
fai tiger: "Um, glad I could help. You can ask me any other questions you have, even if I probably can't answer them."
Omega19x: "No, I think I have asked all that I need to, at this time, that is."
fai tiger: "Oh, okay." *disappointed pout* "Guess I'll just go work on my stack of papers again."
Omega19x: "May I inquire as to your stack of papers?"
fai tiger: "Huh? What about them?"
fai tiger: *sits on the floor next to files*
Omega19x: "What are they?"
fai tiger: "These are mostly just some copies of police reports about Shadow, and some pages I wrote some notes about him on. I haven't figured out much about him."
Omega19x: "Interesting."
Omega19x: (though, I got up really early this morning, I'm getting really sleepy.)
fai tiger: *shuffling papers around* "Eh, not really. I don't think I'll suddenly figure out who he is, where to find him, or why he's going around being weird just by these."
fai tiger: "Er, sorry, I guess you must be tired. You can take my bed if you'd like to sleep, or I can move and let you sleep on the couch again..."
Omega19x: "Whichever is less of a hinderance to you."
