Omega19x: "okay... Malik, Mana, and Honda... we're going to be making some vegetable side dishes tonight..."

Omega19x: "And the recipes aren't that difficult to follow... So we should all be pretty good with things..."

Patrisha Morgana: Mana nodded, and she then looked at the different recipes. Thank Ra that she was able to read the text. "Okay!"
Omega19x: "... okay... lets start with the green beans and the sweet potato sticks."
Omega19x: *hands a bowl to Mana, and points to another bowl filled with fresh green beans* "You can start snapping the ends off of the green beans and putting them in this bowl."
Patrisha Morgana: "Okay!" Mana did just that, careful not to disrespect bowl-sama.
Omega19x: "... Malik, if you like... you can start slicing the sweet potatoes into strips like french fries."
Omega19x: "Honda, will you start slicing alonds?"
fai tiger: "Sounds easy enough so far."
Omega19x: *meanwhile, starts boiling water on the stove and preheating the oven*
ph33r my rod: *nods and grabs a knife, starts slicing away, trying not to cut himself*

Patrisha Morgana: Mana broke the stems off of the green beans.
Omega19x: "..hmm... I'll make two batches of the green beans... One with bacon and one without... so you can enjoy them too, Malik."
ph33r my rod: *nods and grins* "Kay."
fai tiger: "...Bacon?"
Omega19x: "for flavor."
Omega19x: "You take the bacon out after you boil the water."
Patrisha Morgana: "Bacon? What is that?" Mana blinked a little at Ryou.
fai tiger: "Oh. Okay."
Omega19x: *puts two slices of bacon in the pot* "... it's a name for a kind of meat that comes from a pig, Mana."
Omega19x: "... I don't know, are you a vegitarian?"
Patrisha Morgana: "Oh...I see." Mana said, with a nod. "And, me? Nope!"
Omega19x: "oh, Honda, you can just put the chopped almonds in a separate dish. I won't add those until we're ready to serve them on Saturday."
Omega19x: *starts mixing olive oil and paprika to coat the sweet potatoes*
Omega19x: "How are the green beans coming?"
ph33r my rod: *has the sweet potatoes sliced up, in... some form* "You'd think I'd be halfway decent with a knife, too..."
Patrisha Morgana: "Pretty good! Almost done!" She said, with continuing to break them.
Omega19x: "you didn't cut yourself, did you?"
ph33r my rod: *shakes head* "Almost did, a few times."
Omega19x: "Honda, would you grease a baking sheet?"
fai tiger: *looks up from almonds* "Uh, sure."
Patrisha Morgana: "Alright, I am done with breaking the stems off of the green beans! What else?" Mana said, with an eyebrow up.
Omega19x: "Wash them in water, to make sure they're clean."
Omega19x: "That second bowl I handed you was a strainer. The water will go right through it, so you can rinse off the beans."
Patrisha Morgana: "Oh, okay!" Mana said, with filling the bowl with water, and then she picked it up from the counter after she placed the strainer in it, and then she poured the beans into the strainer.
Omega19x: "Honda, can I have that baking sheet?"
fai tiger: *hands greased baking sheet over* "Now what?"
Omega19x: "... here, Malik, um... will you chop some pecans and raisins too?"
ph33r my rod: "Kay." *chopchopchop*
Omega19x: *pulls a pie crust out for Honda.*
Omega19x: "... now... I am not making dessert... .like Mokuba thinks I am..."
Patrisha Morgana: "What else can I do now that the beans are strained?" Mana said, with a blink.
Omega19x: "... can you divide this into twenty four small balls?"
Omega19x: *looks over to check the water boiling on the stove*
Omega19x: *removes bacon from the water* ".. okay... put half of the beans in one pot, and half in the other. Don't hit the pots on the stove with your hands. They're hot."
Patrisha Morgana: "Sure!" Mana said, with dividing the item into twenty-four small balls, slowly though.
Omega19x: (uh, Honda was doing the pie crust)
Patrisha Morgana: "Oh, okay." Mana did just that.
Patrisha Morgana: ( Sorry, was talking with my mom a little. ^^ )
fai tiger: *takes over on pie crust duty*
fai tiger: "So... this isn't a dessert, even though it's called a pie?"
Omega19x: "they're appetizers, really... something to snack on when people arrive early. And it's not time for dinner yet."
fai tiger: "Ah, okay. I think that makes sense."
Omega19x: *pulls out a couple of Isis' muffin pans.* "see, they're just going to be little tarts. We'll press the balls in the pans to make them tart shaped."
Patrisha Morgana: Mana observed the beans and the bacon, while not touching them at all.

Omega19x: "You just let them cook a little bit on the stove, Mana. It won't take very long."
Omega19x: "We're steaming them."
Patrisha Morgana: "Oh, okay." Mana nodded.
Omega19x: "oooh, nice done chopping, Malik" *smiles*
fai tiger: "The pie crust is balled up now. So, I just press them in the pan?"
Omega19x: *starts taking strips of sweet potato and coating them with the oil mixture*
Omega19x: *nods to Honda*

Omega19x: "Malik, you can help too... Try to make them all pretty equal."

Omega19x: *coats sweet potatoes, and puts them on the baking sheet, sprinkling them with the raisins and the pecans* (yes)

Omega19x: "We'll bake them after we take out the sweet potato sticks... Hmm... I think I'm going to need another baking sheet... Malik, do you have another?"
ph33r my rod: "Uh... probably somewhere." *pauses in pie crusting to look for another baking sheet*
Omega19x: "... Mana, do you know how to turn off the stove yet?"
Patrisha Morgana: "Yes!" Mana said, with turning off the stove, smiling. No casualities whatsoever!

ph33r my rod: *finds one, handing it to Ryou* "There you go."
Omega19x: "... okay... we'll let those cool just a little, and then put them in two different containers... so I know which ones had the meat, and which ones didn't."
Omega19x: *looks up, still pretty much running back and forth in the kitchen* "... thanks Malik..."
Patrisha Morgana: "Okay. Anything else?" Mana said, with a little blink.
Omega19x: *takes it, and starts putting the rest of the sweet potatoes on it*

fai tiger: *finishes with pie crust pressing*
Omega19x: *and finally gets both sheets of sweet potato sticks into the oven*
Omega19x: ".. okay... those will bake for 40 minutes... Let me just set a timer..."
Omega19x: *pulls out another sweet potato that hadn't been cut up.* "This one, we'll use for the pies."
Patrisha Morgana: "Okay." Mana nodded, as she opened the cupboard and then looked at the quantity of the beans in the pan. Taking the right one, she waited towards the beans.
Omega19x: "It needs to be peeled, and diced into little cubes."
Omega19x: "Who... who wants the knife this time?" *looks between Honda and Malik*
Omega19x: ".. whoever doesn't can start separating two egg whites... please?"
fai tiger: *shrug* "I'll take the knife, I guess."
Omega19x: *meanwhile, starts measuring out the dry ingredients for the pies, such as evaporated milk, sugar, and several spices.*
ph33r my rod: *shrugs and goes to do the eggs*
Omega19x: "... how are the green beans coming, Mana?"
ph33r my rod: *...and ends up breaking one* "...dammit. I swear, I never have any luck with eggs."
fai tiger: "...Should I have taken them instead?"
Patrisha Morgana: "Pretty good. Waiting for them to cool down before I put them into the container!" Mana said, with a nod.
ph33r my rod: "Nah, I think I got it this time." *manages to crack one without breaking it this time*
Omega19x: "... okay..." *pulls out a saucepan, and puts a little water in it. He puts it on a back burner.* "I'll just use another burner."
Omega19x: "... Honda, when the sweet potato is all cut up... put.. put it in the saucepan on that back burner... we need to boil it for about five minutes before we really mash it."
fai tiger: "Okay." *continues cutting*

Omega19x: "... oh shoot... the baby carrots! I almost forgot about them!"
Patrisha Morgana: "Hm?" Mana looked at Ryou, with an eyebrow up.
Omega19x: *pulls the bag of precut carrots out of the fridge* "these need to be washed too... and steamed on the stove like the green beans."
Patrisha Morgana: "Oh, okay." Mana nodded, as she did the same steps as the green beans.
Omega19x: *pours water into a pot and starts it boiling for her*
Omega19x: *and just in time to take the sweet potato off the fire.* "This should be good. Now, we mash this..."
Omega19x: *grabs a potato masher, and passes it to Malik*

Patrisha Morgana: Mana put the carrots into the pot, and then she hummed.
Omega19x: "Honda, when he's done... add it to the food processor, and pour in my little bowl of dried ingredients, and the egg whites too... Then we just puree it until it's smooth."

Omega19x: "... I... I better make the glaze for the carrots. Then I can add some now, and save some to add on Saturday."
