Omega19x: *Ryou lays weakly in bed, not feeling very well. Still with the feeding tube, the wires, and everything else.*

fai tiger: "Heh, yeah. So... how bored are you by now?"
ph33r my rod: "...let's just say neither of us can wait to get out of this place." *facepalm*

fai tiger: "I figured as much." *glances around* "Want me to... I dunno, try to bring in some books or magazines or something? To give you something to do besides stare at the walls?"
Omega19x: *and in pops Dr. Malouf, holding his clipboard, and not being all too thrilled about it*

Omega19x: "Oh, I'm sorry, I did not know there were visitors in here." *looks up at Honda*
fai tiger: "Er, sorry... you need me to leave so you can do doctor-type stuff?" *scoots towards doorway*
Omega19x: *he quickly goes over to the monitors surrounding Ryou, and checks the various things on the drip*
Omega19x: "This will only take a few minutes."
Omega19x: "You are welcome to stay. I'm sure all the patients here would love more visitors."
fai tiger: "...Okay." *still shuffling nervously*
fai tiger: *watches Malouf*
ph33r my rod: "Uh huh... it helps break up the time between sleeping, and stuff."
Omega19x: *walks back to the door himself, and calls for a nurse.* "I need ethionamide, para-aminosalicylic acid, pyrazinamide, isoniazid, rifampin, ethambutol, and streptomycin. IV. As soon as you can."

Omega19x: *the nurse agrees, and he turns back to his patient*
Omega19x: "Ryou, we're just going to be chanigng your antibiotics. You'll start to feel much better soon."
fai tiger: *raises eyebrow* "...Change is good?"
ph33r my rod: "Feeling better is also good."
Omega19x: "There's quite a nasty infection that needs to be dealt with. And it's probably been left untreated for a while now, probably since you were seeing Shogi."
fai tiger: "Lucky for you, Shogi won't be seeing anyone again, huh?"

fai tiger: "Hm, I wonder if the police have any leads on his attack."
Omega19x: "An atypical mycobacterial infection. It seems to be primarily in the bone marrow, which may account for your recent anemia, the pain you've been feeling, and the fatigue."
Omega19x: "I wouldn't have even thought to look there. But thankfully we can get that under control."
fai tiger: "Malik, do you get the feeling that we're being ignored here? Understandable, though, since Ryou's the more serious patient."
Omega19x: *weak nod*
ph33r my rod: *small shrug* "As long as he'll get better, then I'm not complaining."
Omega19x: "Oh, was someone mentioning a former associate that I knew back in medical school?"
Omega19x: "If you ask me, he had it coming to him."
ph33r my rod: "Oh yeah. Definitely had it coming."
Omega19x: "His method of treating patients was quite deplorable. Downright rude."
fai tiger: "No doubt. Still, I can't help wondering who actually had the guts to go through with it."
Omega19x: *Dr. Malouf glances down at Ryou* "Someone like this deserves to be cared for, not taken advantage of."

Omega19x: "And when you are discharged later, I will make certain you have prescriptions for the new antibiotics."

Omega19x: "A nurse will come in a few minutes and switch out the IVs. I have other patients to attend to."

fai tiger: "He's probably waiting to see if he can get Jounouchi and his boyfriend to come along too."

ph33r my rod: "Katsuya's not the type of person who will favor one person over another, I don't think. I mean, sure, he may have people he's closer to, but he cares about all of his friends a lot."
ph33r my rod: "And if he's disappointed that you weren't at his party, then you know that means he wanted you to have been there. So that should count for something."
ph33r my rod: "... And he sang something for you at the party too, even when you weren't there. So I dunno where the idea about him not needing you comes from."
fai tiger: "...Right. I'm sure him being disappointed this time counts for something, like maybe the fact that no matter what I do, he always seems to end up hurt, disappointed, or both."
fai tiger: "Sooner or later he'll have to get tired of me being a jerk like this, and maybe it's actually better that way. He doesn't need me, all I do is sit around being whiny and complain to people like I am right now."

ph33r my rod: "But that's not really the point... Katsuya considers you to be one of his best friends, and no matter how much you think you disappoint him, he's not gonna throw you off to the side or anything."
fai tiger: *glances up at Malik* "And in some ways I think it'd be a lot easier if he would. If he won't stand up for himself, I'm just going to keep hurting him without meaning to. He doesn't deserve that."

fai tiger: "You have got to be kidding me." *glances at Ryou, then back to Malik* "I'm pretty sure Ryou and I have next to nothing in common. Especially this."

ph33r my rod: "Well... he thinks that he always hurts me, or I get hurt because of him. But even despite that, I still want to be with him and make him happy... and I think Katsuya's kinda the same way."
ph33r my rod: "He may be romantically involved with Mahaado, but he still thinks very highly of you. I think, if you just stopped being there for him, it would hurt him more than anything."
ph33r my rod: "That's what I tell Ryou... as much as he thinks it hurts me to be with him, not being with him is what would hurt the most."
fai tiger: "That's just it, I'm not always going to be there for Katsuya. Sooner or later... something'll happen and he'll get seriously hurt over it. It's just a question of how many times he gets hurt between now and then."
fai tiger: "The biggest difference between Ryou thinking you'll get hurt and me thinking Katsuya'll get hurt is that I can and probably will physically hurt him if this goes on like it has. I can't help it, that's just the way it goes."

ph33r my rod: "Well... I usually let him set the pace for our uh... interactions, and try to stick with that. Like, if he can manage to hug me tighter, than I'll hug him tight. Kind of a take-what-you-can-dish-out kind of thing."
ph33r my rod: "I dunno how well that'd apply to you and Katsuya, since you're not involved romantically with each other, but you kinda get when I'm trying to say?"

ph33r my rod: *sighs* "I'm just trying to help the best I can, given the experience I have on this kind of situation."
fai tiger: "Sorry, I'm not meaning to take this out on you. You're being nice and trying to be helpful, even though I don't deserve it. It's my fault and my fault alone for making such a mess of everything."
fai tiger: *stares at the ceiling* "Ya know, I think the biggest irony of this all is that I'm not even sure what I'm jealous of."
ph33r my rod: "...yeah, that kinda complicates things."
fai tiger: *eyebrow quirk* "You speaking from experience?"
ph33r my rod: "Kind of. I dunno how much you know about how it used to be between me and Yami, but when he started coming on to Siegfried, I was jealous."
ph33r my rod: "Of what, I don't know."
ph33r my rod: "I mean, me and him weren't together or anything, so it's not like I really had the right to be jealous."
ph33r my rod: *idly picks at a snag in his blanket* "I guess it kinda felt like I was losing my best friend. Not sure if it's quite the same thing, but I do know how it feels to not know what you're being jealous of."
fai tiger: "...I think I was out of town during that, but I've heard a reference or two to it. I take it from how you're talking, you never figured out your jealousy, huh?"
ph33r my rod: *nods* "I just eventually forgot about it after I figured out my feelings for Ryou."
fai tiger: *small smile* "So the solution for me is to find someone else to like instead?"
ph33r my rod: "It's probably not that easy. I mean, I'd known I had some kind of feelings for Ryou for a long time before the stuff with Yami and Siegfried started..."
ph33r my rod: "But it took me a while to actually figure out what kind of feelings they were."
ph33r my rod: "But, it may be different for other people. Who knows, that might actually work for you."
fai tiger: "Heh, I was kidding... kinda. I'm not dense enough to think it's that easy, nothing ever is. Still, maybe I should stop focusing on just Katsuya and let myself think about other people too."
ph33r my rod: "Probably. It's too easy to get confused when you think about just one person all the time. I do think about Ryou a lot, but I care about a lot of other people too."
ph33r my rod: "You probably just need a little variety." *small smirk*
fai tiger: "Right, I'm sure some meaningless sex will make things just so much clearer. I don't think I do anything more emotionally involved, especially the care thing, too well."
ph33r my rod: "Well... maybe some people just aren't cut out for the whole 'love' thing. It might sound like a jerky thing for me to say, but it's the sad truth." *sighs*
fai tiger: "...I think you're the first person to actually say that to me. Most people go over the top trying to convince me that of course I'll find love, of course I'll do the sickeningly sweet happily ever after some day."
ph33r my rod: "... At the risk of sounding like a lot of those people, it could just be 'cause you haven't found the right person. Hell, I never thought I'd fall in love. I used to be all about the meaningless sex."
ph33r my rod: "I don't blame you for being a bit iffy on the subject, though. I guess it's one of those if-it-happens-it-happens, if-it-doesn't-then-it-doesn't kind of things."
fai tiger: *shrug* "Yeah, that's a good way to think about it. Maybe someday I'll find someone to have love and mushy feelings with. In the mean time, I just wish so many people didn't insist that I need someone to be happy."
ph33r my rod: *nods* "Yeah, I get what you're saying. It does feel good to have someone to love, but people can live perfectly fine without it. Unless it's something that they really want, then it just depresses them."
ph33r my rod: "I take it that it's not quite at the top of your to-do list?"
fai tiger: (...okay, guess I'll retry my last line, since AIM apparently didn't feel like sending it.)
ph33r my rod: (( Kay. :o *didn't see it* ))
fai tiger: "No, I think the top of my to-do list is to make a real to-do list. Figure out where I actually want to go from here, rather than just wander aimlessly, that sort of stuff that's apparently important."
fai tiger: "Love is off on some other list, I guess, if it's on a list at all. Probably the list of stuff can't be vey important if I've lived just fine without it all this time."
ph33r my rod: "Figuring out where you wanna go is probably the best thing you can do at this point. Like... save the love thing for when you've got everything else figured out, y'know?"
fai tiger: "Somehow, I don't think love waits til you have everything else in place though. As soon as I decide to not even bother worrying about it, it'll come and wack me on the head, I just know it will. That's how life is, it seems."
ph33r my rod: "Heh, yeah, it kinda throws you for a loop sometimes. But y'know, if it does happen to wait until then to smack you upside the head, then it's all good, right?"
fai tiger: "Yeah, it'd be quite nice if stuff like love waited til it was convenient. In a perfect world, we wouldn't be refering to it being so physically violent either, wacking and smacking people. Or blind, in my opinion."
ph33r my rod: "Well, they do say love hurts. Granted, they probably didn't mean it that literally, but yeah. The world isn't perfect, though. If it were perfect, I think it'd be boring, heh..."
fai tiger: "Yes, a perfect world would be unbareably boring." *burst out laughing at the thought, then covers his mouth and glances over at the miraculously still-sleeping Ryou*
fai tiger: *quiets his voice some* "Yeah, I think I'll take exciting over perfect any day."
ph33r my rod: *smirks* "Yeah. 'Variety is the spice of life', after all. Of course, I could do without some things..." *glares at hospital walls*
ph33r my rod: "But really, a lot of the bad stuff that happens usually turns out okay in the end anyway. So why not leave 'em there?"
fai tiger: "Good attitude. More people need that attitude, instead of spending all their time worrying at every little mishap. Then again, I guess you're used to dealing with bigger stuff than most people are."
ph33r my rod: *nods* "Understatement of the millennium. I mean, hell... the bad crap is what brought me and Ryou together in the first place, so it can't be all bad."
fai tiger: *blink* "Hm, guess I didn't think about it that way. It seems like for most people bad times pull them apart rather than together. I suppose you and Ryou are at least a little lucky in that sense."
fai tiger: "...Not that I want bad stuff to keep happening to you two, though."
ph33r my rod: "Nah, I'd like a break from it every once in a while."
ph33r my rod: "But yeah, it probably just depends on who it happens to. If they're strong enough to pull through it, then yeah, they probably grow closer to the people they care about."
fai tiger: "Well, I'm still going to be sitting and hoping to avoid disaster, if it's all the same to you. Consequence of love not being one of my priorities, I guess."
ph33r my rod: "Oh, I'm not saying people should let crap happen to them. I'm mentally kicking myself for crashing my motorbike. It just kinda keeps life from boring you to death."
fai tiger: "I guess, in theory, life would get boring if everything went well all the time. Being that happy with life would become your normal state, I suppose, and you'd stop being so happy in comparison."
ph33r my rod: *blinks, thinking about that for a few moments* "... Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense."
fai tiger: "Still doesn't make it very fair though... and now I'm kinda depressing myself. Wanna talk about something else, or you getting tired?"
ph33r my rod: "Eh, I should probably be getting some rest pretty soon. They're gonna wake me early for another physical therapy session, and I don't wanna be too dead."
fai tiger: *stands up* "Yeah, good point. And I should probably head home, or Rishid might worry that I wandered off to Hiroshima again." *walks slowly to door*
ph33r my rod: *nods, yawning a little* "Yeah, okay. Guess I'll talk to you later, then."
fai tiger: "Yeah, later. Good night." *walks out, quietly closing door behind him*
