Omega19x: *Ryou and Malik decide to go to the park*
Omega19x: *for a picnic!*
ph33r my rod: *w00t!*
Omega19x: "... okay... I've got the sandwiches, chips, veggies with dip... and of course, the cream puffs! Anything else we need?"
ph33r my rod: "Probably a couple bottles of water." *looks in cabinet for bottles, finds a couple*
Omega19x: *grabs a big blanket too*
Omega19x: "Oh, good idea! It's warm outside."
ph33r my rod: *nodnod* *fills them up with fresh water from the thing in the fridge, dropping a few ice cubes in too*
Omega19x: *gathers up supplies.* "I think we're ready."
ph33r my rod: "Okay. Let's get going, then~" *grins*
Omega19x: *smile*
Omega19x: (sorry, Mom wanted to use the comp.)
ph33r my rod: (( 'Tis okay. :X ))
Omega19x: *and out the door they go, and off to the park!*
ph33r my rod: *magical walktotheparklapse!*
Omega19x: *the sun is shining, the air is clean. It's not too crowded, and they find a nice little spot under a tree next to some rocks.*
ph33r my rod: "This is a pretty nice spot~"
Omega19x: *sets out the blanket, and puts down the basket, unloading lunch.*
Omega19x: "... here's a sandwich for you, Malik!"
ph33r my rod: "Thanks." *sits back on the blanket, unwrapping his sandwich*
Omega19x: *unwraps his, and nibbles*
Omega19x: "... it's a pretty day for a picnic, isn't it."
ph33r my rod: "Yeah, it is." *eats on stuff* "It feels a little cooler out today than it usually is, I think..."
Omega19x: "but still pretty warm."
Omega19x: *eats*
Omega19x: *holds out a bag of chips for Malik*
ph33r my rod: *nods and takes a few*
Omega19x: *takes a few too, and eats them*
ph33r my rod: "Even so, it's still nice out. This was a good idea." *sips on water* *looks up at the tree*
Omega19x: "and nice in the shade."
Omega19x: "... hard to... hard to believe my birthday is coming up already! It... it seems like the year has just... flown by."
ph33r my rod: "Oooh, it is, isn't it?" *thinks* "...next weekend, right?"
Omega19x: "September 2nd!"
ph33r my rod: (( While we're off at AFest. XD ))
Omega19x: (duh)
Omega19x: (and I'm dressing as Bakura on Saturday the 2nd for a reason.)
ph33r my rod: (( Oooh~? Do we get party hats or something? 8D ))
Omega19x: (we should so stop by Party City on the way to Mr. Max on Thursday, and get some Yugioh party supplies. lol)
ph33r my rod: (( That would own so much. XD ))
Omega19x: (at least hats)
Omega19x: "... last year... was so special... I... I didn't think I was going to make it to see my birthday. But I did... This year... I know I'm going to make it!"
Omega19x: (and be sure to bring your posterboard, so we can use some of it to make the giant tic tac toe board prop)
ph33r my rod: (( Okay~ ))
ph33r my rod: *grins and wraps an arm around Ryou's shoulders* "That's right~ You're gonna make it to see a lot more of them, too."
Omega19x: *smiles*
Omega19x: *and leans back on the blanket, putting his hands behind his head, staring up at the clouds* "I sure hope so."
Omega19x: "And I want to spend every single one with you!"
ph33r my rod: *lays down next to him* "You will."
Omega19x: *looks at Malik, and smiles*
Omega19x: "I like that."
ph33r my rod: *sits up a little, leaning over him* "I'll be here to spend every one with you, no matter where it's at..."
Omega19x: *giggles, looking up.* "You're the best boyfriend in the whole world!"
Omega19x: "... no... the whole universe!"
ph33r my rod: *laughs* "Probably not the whole universe... I'm happy being in your universe."
Omega19x: *laughs a little, and then shoots up* "Ow!"
Omega19x: *shakes his hand, and holds it.* "... something just bit me!" *ow.*
ph33r my rod: *heads clunk together* "Ow." *rubs head* "...what? What is it?"
Omega19x: "... sorry..." *looks down, and sees a little spider running off the edge of the blanket* "... just a spider..."
Omega19x: "I guess we put our blanket where it wanted to be..."
ph33r my rod: *takes Ryou's hand and looks at it* "...I hate to say it, but we should probably get that checked out. Most spiders have venom..."
Omega19x: "they'd want to know what kind it is... is there something you could catch it in without getting bit?"
ph33r my rod: "Uh... here." *takes his water bottle and pours it out* *looks for the spider*
Omega19x: "it was really small... like... the size of a large pea."
Omega19x: *his hand hurts*
ph33r my rod: *looks, finally sees the little thing near the edge of the blanket, scoops it up with his bottle and screws the lid on* "There, got it." *looks up* "How's your hand doing?"
Omega19x: "it's okay... It just hurts a little. Nothing to worry about, right?"
ph33r my rod: *takes his hand and gently kisses it* "Probably, but... we should still have it looked at, just to be safe. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you before your birthday..."
Omega19x: *nod* "... let's go see Dr. Malouf."
ph33r my rod: "Okay. ...it's a shame our picnic had to get cut short, but your safety is priority here."
Omega19x: "... all we had left were the cream puffs... We can always have dessert when we get home..."
ph33r my rod: "Yeah, true."
Omega19x: *they start packing up their picnic, and off to the hopsital in Ryou's car*
Omega19x: *by the time they get there, Ryou's hand still hurts, and it's sweaty. In fact, it hurts more than it did when he was bit*
ph33r my rod: *eep*
Omega19x: "... ow... this hurts..." *he holds his left hand*
Omega19x: *in... his other hand...*
ph33r my rod: "It's okay, we'll get it checked out, and it'll be fine..."
Omega19x: *sees the familiar pair come in as he was walking by*
Omega19x: "Uh oh. What seems to be the trouble?" *Dr. Malouf knows by now that when these two show up, SOMETHING has happened.*
ph33r my rod: "He was bit by a spider."
Omega19x: "Ah, fortunately, there are very few, if any, venomous spiders in this part of the world. Most are localized in Australia and North America."
Omega19x: "Do you have a specimen?"
ph33r my rod: "Yeah." *holds the bottle up*
Omega19x: *he looks at it, curiously* "Nurse Bea, take this down to some of the others, and see if you can positively identify it. I've never seen a spider like this."
ph33r my rod: *blink blink*
Omega19x: "One of the nurses down in pediatrics originally studied to be an etymologist. She collects insects in her spare time." he added. "I'm not the best with bugs."
ph33r my rod: "Oh."
ph33r my rod: (( Haga would probably know :X ))
Omega19x: (wait, scratch that. etymologist is the study of linguistics...
Omega19x: I'm tired...
ph33r my rod: (( ...*ded* ))
Omega19x: (make that ENTOmologist)
ph33r my rod: (( Well, you were close. ))
Omega19x: (realized that as soon as I had typed it.)
Omega19x: *turns back to Ryou, and examines the bite site*
Omega19x: "it... hurts..."
ph33r my rod: *gently rubs Ryou's back*
Omega19x: (yeah, where's Haga when you need him)
Omega19x: "Let's first put some ice on this to reduce the swelling."
Omega19x: *he spots the nurse coming back up with the bottle, and he goes over to get the information*
Omega19x: *looks back at Malik*
ph33r my rod: *gives his shoulder a squeeze*
Omega19x: *Dr. Malouf is whispering with the nurse, asking if she's sure.*
Omega19x: *his voice is muffled, but the last sentence is clear: 'Get on the line with the largest hospital in Sidney and have a box of antivenin flown in ASAP.*

Omega19x: (nope)
ph33r my rod: (( ...*blink* ))
Omega19x: (I'm not THAT evil)
ph33r my rod: (( Okay, good. XD ))
Omega19x: *Dr. Malouf comes back out* "The spider is a red-back. It's native to Australia, and I don't know why one would be in this part of the world. It is highly venomous, but thankfully, the venom moves extremely slowly."
Omega19x: "We don't have any antivenom here, but we're getting some flown in as soon as possible. Hopefully within a few hours, but most certainly by morning."
Omega19x: *blink*
ph33r my rod: *blink*
Omega19x: *wonders if Haga is missing any spiders...*
ph33r my rod: *facepalm*
Omega19x: *a nurse brings out a wheelchair* "Have a seat. We'll get you checked in. Try to keep the ice on the bite to relieve the swelling. It's going to get more painful, but until the antivenom comes in, this is the best I can do."
Omega19x: "If you feel nauseated or dizzy, that is a normal reaction. So is a quickening of the heartbeat, but your ICD unit should easily keep that under control. If the pain becomes very intense, let the nurses know immediately, all right?"
Omega19x: "We'll get you fixed up and out of here by morning."
ph33r my rod: "Yay." *unenthusiastic*
Omega19x: "... I'm sorry..."
Omega19x: *sits down*
ph33r my rod: *pats Ryou's shoulder* "No, it's okay... I really should've seen this coming. But they'll get you fixed up, okay?"
Omega19x: (because whenever I say I'm bored, I want plot, something happens?)
ph33r my rod: (( Yep. :X ))
Omega19x: "... at least it's... just a little spider bite, and you heard Dr. Malouf... everything will be just fine..."
Omega19x: *one of the nurses takes Ryou to a hospital room. Malik, of coruse, can follow right alongside*
ph33r my rod: *nods and follows* "Right. ...how bad does it hurt?"
Omega19x: "... not... t..too much right now... It hurts more than when I got bit. It's going to hurt even more later, though, I'm guessing... from what Dr. Malouf said."
Omega19x: *holds ice to his hand*
Omega19x: *climbs on the hospital bed, and sits back, trying to relax a little*
ph33r my rod: "...would a cream puff help? I did bring them with us..."
Omega19x: *nod* "... cream puffs always help."
Omega19x: *weak smile* "... and so do you."
ph33r my rod: *reaches into the picnic basdket he still has, takes out a puff, and offers it to Ryou*
Omega19x: *takes a puff with his good hand, and pops it in his mouth* "... mmm... chocobanana."
ph33r my rod: *smiles* "I'll stay here with you, 'kay?"
Omega19x: "... you... you don't have to... Dr. Malouf said I'd be fine... and out of here by morning..."
Omega19x: "if not earlier."
ph33r my rod: "You know I won't be able to sleep very well if I go home."
Omega19x: *scoots over on the hospital bed*
Omega19x: *and pats the extra space.*
ph33r my rod: *sits on the bed next to him*
Omega19x: "... then lie here with me... so that when it gets really painful, I can hold on to you, and everything will be better again!"
ph33r my rod: *smiles* "Okay."
Omega19x: *smiles back*
Omega19x: *and kisses him gently, before snuggling up next to him*
ph33r my rod: *holds on to him* "It'll be okay."
Omega19x: *nodnod*
Omega19x: (and there we have it. something HAPPENED!)
