silverbluedreams: Mado-chan waited patiently outside the hospital. He was sure those who cared would have seen his entry, but as he was one of the only people who knew where Mahaado had been moved to it would surely save confusion if he waited here.
fai tiger: Honda happened to be wandering in that general direction through complete coincidence, as he unfortunately was in a disagreement with his computer and thus hadn't seen the entry.
ph33r my rod: Isis had indeed seen the entry, and decided to go up there in order to see for herself what was happening.
silverbluedreams: Arms crossed, leaning against a wall, his fingers drummed against his arm in boredom until he saw a couple of familiar figures approach.

Omega19x: Upon taking a coffee break, Dr. Malouf was surprised to see some of the people he recognized as friends of Mr. Mahaado standing in one place. He decided to go over to them.

Omega19x: "Ms. Ishtar?" he knew her by name, but did not know the others very well. "I was on my way in to call you. There has been... a change in your friend's condition."
fai tiger: Honda blinked and slowed slightly upon noticing Mahaado, Isis, and Dr. Malouf. He got the bad feeling there was something going on here that he didn't know about, so he gave them a hesitant wave of greeting.
ph33r my rod: Isis briefly looked toward Mado-chan, and then to Honda, but then nodded at Dr. Malouf. "I sort of... had a feeling."
ph33r my rod: (( Isis: *not gonna blow Mado-chan's cover, no way* 8D; ))
Omega19x: "He was moved back into intensive care yesterday, from seizures that we could not bring under control. However, they have finally stopped."
silverbluedreams: Mado-chan was a bit at a loss for words, not knowing what to say without indicating that he knew what he probably shouldn't. "Well, that's good to hear."
silverbluedreams: ((*giggles*))
Omega19x: "And he is even showing signs of coming around." the doctor smiled.
fai tiger: "Okay..." Honda replied slowly.
Omega19x: "He was able to even squeeze my hand on command. Things are quickly improving."
fai tiger: "Yay for that then." Well, Honda was slowly getting an idea what was going around, despite not seeing the journals.
ph33r my rod: "That's great..." Isis smiled, but didn't get her hopes up - every other 'good news' message she'd received had had a bit of 'bad news' as well...
Omega19x: "I think you all should come with me."
fai tiger: Honda obediently followed, since whatever he was doing before couldn't be more important than this.
ph33r my rod: Isis hesitantly followed as well, bracing herself for whatever they might find out.
Omega19x: (Isis always assumes a worst case scenario)
ph33r my rod: (( Well, after the last few times she was given "good news", I don't blame her. ;D ))

silverbluedreams: He nodded, pushing himself off from the wall.

Omega19x: Dr. Malouf took them to the intensive care unit, where Mahaado still was. In case the seizures returned, he wanted him under close supervision. But he was beecoming more confident that Mahaado might actually wake up.
Omega19x: The bed was raised more, so that the patient was almost in a seated position. That would help him be more spacially oriented when he did start to come to more.
Omega19x: Mahaado's eyes followed them.
fai tiger: Honda looked the room over, unsure how to react. He suddenly felt rather young, especially compared to Isis and Mahaado.
silverbluedreams: Mado-chan followed the doctor in, not surprised in the least to see Mahaado as alert as he was. He actually smiled a little knowing smile, not really caring if anyone saw.
ph33r my rod: Inwardly, Isis was a little unnerved that his eyes were following them, but she figured it was most likely a good sign, and she allowed herself a nervous smile.
Omega19x: He blinked a couple of times. It was clear he recognized everyone in the room.
Omega19x: Something was going on in his mind, and it was as if he was trying as hard as he could to respond to them.
silverbluedreams: ((then everyone fell silent XD))
Omega19x: "Patients often benefit from having their friends and family nearby." Dr. Malouf added. "I'll leave you all alone for a few minutes."
Omega19x: And he left the room.
fai tiger: Honda continued glancing around uncertainly, not letting his gaze linger too long anywhere or on anyone.
ph33r my rod: ... The silence was somwhat uncomfortable. "...Mahaado? Can you hear us?" Isis asked, lightly laying a hand on top of one of his.

silverbluedreams: When the doctor left the room, Mado-chan spoke up. "Well, I got to admit even with whatever chaos is going on up there, you're putting up one hell of a fight to leave it Mahaado."
fai tiger: Honda raised an eyebrow, quietly watching the others.
Omega19x: Mahaado moved his hand slightly, trying to turn it.
Omega19x: He blinked, and moved his mouth. Although no words came out.
fai tiger: Noticing the motion, Honda's interest grew and he shuffled slightly closer.
ph33r my rod: "...you can hear us!" She sighed in relief, gripping his hand a little tighter.
Omega19x: Slowly, Mahaado managed to turn his hand, and curl his fingers around the thin delicate hand of the good priestess.
Omega19x: He squeezed it softly.
silverbluedreams: "It's the response that's the problem. We spent the better part of an hour playing yes or no, since he can't convey anything else. This is certainly an improvement though."
Omega19x: Mahaado looked up at his other self. He remembered the 'conversation' if you could call it that.
fai tiger: "So... any thoughts on what's the next step?" Honda asked quietly.
silverbluedreams: "I don't know. He won't let me in his head to see what's going on, or see if I can help."
Omega19x: The sennen ankh, of course, is still around his neck. But when the other Mahaado tried it earlier, it didn't work.
fai tiger: "Guess asking if you'll let me in is a dumb question, huh?" Honda muttered.
Omega19x: Mahaado looked back at Honda.
fai tiger: Honda shrugged and looked away, feeling even dumber than before. "Either you fix whatever the problem is yourself or you let someone in to help. Don't really see how it gets fixed otherwise."
Omega19x: Mahaado slowly managed to smile. "... Imhotep... be... praised..." he managed to finally say something, his voice a low whisper. But it was clear as day.
ph33r my rod: Isis let out a gasp as she heard him speak, then glanced up at her companions. "He spoke... he actually spoke..."
silverbluedreams: "Well it's about damn time."
fai tiger: Honda looked over, hearing the words but having no idea what that comment was supposed to mean.
Omega19x: Imhotep was the god of healing and medicine. His next sentence was entirely in ancient Egyptian, a prayer of sorts, thanking the gods. It too was raspy.
Omega19x: He smiled, weakly. "... I... I'm... alive."
fai tiger: Honda nodded and gave him a small smile. "Yup, definitely are."
ph33r my rod: "...oh, thank the gods." Isis wasn't sure whether to smile or cry as she took his hand in both of hers, her own hands shaking.
Omega19x: Mahaado looked around. His voice was slowly getting a little stronger. "Friend Honda... Priestess... Other self..."
silverbluedreams: "Well I'm glad you got your voice back; now you're able to explain just what the hell went on after my last visit to your head. And why you wouldn't let me in later."
Omega19x: "The temple... is my mind." he slowly answered. Talking was difficult right now. "We were going about it all wrong, other self."
fai tiger: Honda raised his eyebrow, waiting to hear more.
Omega19x: "Power does not forge discs. It... is not power that makes a sorcerer strong. It is... how that power is used..."
Omega19x: "You tried transfiguration spells with... foreign objects... Foreign objects inside my mind. Shadow was a foreign object. Both were wrong. My... inner shield had not been rebuilt"
Omega19x: "And that... is the difference between master and appentice."
fai tiger: "So... what did you have to do instead?"
Omega19x: "The temple started to collapse... I... had to force you out." he glanced up at his other self, his voice still getting stronger. "I had to divert heka. Make my mind stable... safe... protected..."
Omega19x: "And when I did, I could see the shards and stones."
silverbluedreams: "So that's what we should have been focusing on in the first place."
fai tiger: "Um, okay..." Honda wasn't sure how that was different than what they'd been focusing on before, since he honestly wasn't entirely sure what they'd been focusing on.
Omega19x: "It... felt like eternity before I felt things become stable. After that... it... it was like a candle being lit. Everything... was bright."
Omega19x: "Stones flying into place... bridges being rebuilt. The bright energetic aura..." the sorcerer smiled. "Ma'at is indeed merciful."
ph33r my rod: "...yes, indeed. You're back now, so all of that hard work you did... it paid off." Isis smiled, completely ignoring the fact that her face was now wet with tears.
Omega19x: "... Thank you, Osiris. I have... earned the right to live again..."
fai tiger: Honda nodded. "You're back, and you've learned some valuable lessons along the way," he commented quietly.
silverbluedreams: Mado-chan walked over to a counter and grabbed a box of tissues, handing them over to the young priestess. He couldn't deal with people crying.
Omega19x: Indeed he had - in the process of rebuilding the soul room, he had learned to depend on others, to rely on their strengths and not just his own, to remember his past, to appreciate his heka, to conserve his energy...
Omega19x: to protect his mind from outside intrusion. And he learned that he truly had good friends.
Omega19x: "thank you... my friends..."
fai tiger: "So..." Honda said slowly, not wanting to interrupt but very curious. "Is it all over now? Or there still anything you need to do before everything is completely fixed up?"
Omega19x: "Everything is... right again..." he weakly smiled, squeezing Isis' hand again. He even tried to sit up more, but found that everything was very very stiff.
fai tiger: "Right..." Honda couldn't help but smile a little. "Think Malouf is going to argue that your body will need some time to get used to moving around again."
silverbluedreams: He moved over to his other self, helping him along. "Easy. You haven't moved in a month; your muscles aren't exactly going to be agreeable."
ph33r my rod: Isis returned the squeeze, wiping at her eyes with the offered tissues. "Right... even if you're awake, you should still take it slowly..."
fai tiger: "Er, speaking of Malouf... maybe I should go tell him that you've officially woken up? Unless one of these fancy machines is already telling them..."
Omega19x: (right now, Malouf is quite busy... Hence why he hasn't come back)

Omega19x: While he had many memories of what he experienced when temporarily fused with his ka, he didn't know much of what was going on in this form.

ph33r my rod: "Yes... the doctors here kept your body alive while you worked in your mind."
Omega19x: He slowly moved his other hand, the one with the IV connected to it. He was more than a little confused.
fai tiger: "That makes sure your body has food-like stuff, since you couldn't just eat like normal."
fai tiger: "Keep it in til a nurse or doctor comes to remove it. It's a bad idea to just yank it out."
Omega19x: Mahaado had yet to even notice the naso-gastric tube that was in place. But he soon did.

fai tiger: "Yeah, that's very true."
Omega19x: Mahaado hardly believed it. But his body felt as though he hadn't moved in a very long time, so it had to be true. "I see."
fai tiger: "But you're awake now, so getting your body up to speed again shouldn't be too difficult compared to that." Honda gave Mahaado a smile that he hoped was reassuring.
silverbluedreams: Mado-chan nodded in agreement. "Just take it easy and don't push yourself. Otherwise you're liable to end up with an extended stay here."
Omega19x: Mahaado nodded. He found that he was actually able to nod, and to move his head a little. He could move his limbs slowly, albeit difficultly. Anything grander wasn't exactly happening yet.
fai tiger: "Malouf and them will probably want to look you over to make sure your muscles haven't started to... um... damnit, don't know the word..."
silverbluedreams: "Deteriorate?"
Omega19x: (atrophied would probably be the word you're groping for.)

Omega19x: He was going to summon his wand, and try to speed up the process by levitating himself to his feet, but on second thought, he decided against it. "Yes. I think I have been... laying down long enough."
silverbluedreams: "All right, if you think you're up to it," he said, gripping the arm of his other self firmly to support him. "Just move slowly; don't rush it."
fai tiger: Honda shrugged. "Just give your blood some time to adjust to the change of position, okay."

Omega19x: Mahaado rested his back on the pillows. He took a few deep breaths. It was easier to breathe that way, sitting further up. And although it was tiring to hold himself up like that, it did make him feel better.
