Omega19x: Azizi runs around the apartment, having managed to knock the entire cookie jar to the floor. He hears knocking on the door.
silverbluedreams: Kisara stood nervously at the door, waiting for someone to open it. She didn't like what she was here for, but would do no less for a friend.
XEgyptiansmileX: "Azizi, you're going to turn the whole place into a mess!" Mana picks up the cookies before hearing the knock. "Oh.." she runs to open it. "Hello!"
Omega19x: The kuribo chirps annoyedly, as his cookies were taken away.
silverbluedreams: "Hello," she tried a smile. "You are Mana, Mahaado's apprentice?"
xCrossSoulx: Atem frowned as he too made his way to Mahaado's apartment. He stopped outside the door seeing Kisara and then he looks at Mana. He was silent as he stood in the background watching the two of them
XEgyptiansmileX: "Yes, I'm Mana. You must be Kisara." Mana only knew that because she looked exactly like Sara had, minus the fancy clothes. She bent down and gave a cookie to Azizi. "Come in."
fai tiger: Honda meanwhile was dawdling on his way from home to Mahaado's, trying to get his thoughts under control so he'd be able to keep calm during the ritual.
silverbluedreams: She stepped in warily. "Yes, I am." Turning she noticed the pharaoh behind her. "Atem. I didn't hear you arrive."
ph33r my rod: Isis walked up to the door shortly after Atem's arrival, looking very tired - her anxiety had kept her up for most of the night.
xCrossSoulx: The pharaoh blinked as he looked up at her and gave a weak smile accompanied with a nod. He was still silent, deep in his own thoughts about the ritual.
XEgyptiansmileX: "Oh...Atem?" Mana motioned inside the apartment. "And Isis-san, too." She didn't have much to say, but apparently, no one did.
ph33r my rod: Nodding at both of them, Isis attempted a small smile. "Hello..."
fai tiger: After a short while, Honda realized that he was probably as focused as he was probably going to get and headed into Mahaado's apartment building as well.
silverbluedreams: Mado was silent as he made his way up to Mahaado's apartment, still not thrilled with the idea. But he gave his word, so here he was. He didn't say anything as he walked into the apartment, past everyone else.
fai tiger: Honda looked around at everyone, then sat down on the floor next to Azizi and began petting him.
xCrossSoulx: The pharaoh gave another weak smile to Mana and he too went into the apartment. He didn't really feel very talkitive at the moment.
XEgyptiansmileX: Mana sat down beside Honda, feeding another cookie to Azizi.
Omega19x: Meanwhile, Mahaado slowly made his way out of the bathroom. He was dressed in a long kilt, leaving his chest fully exposed. He tucked his hair neatly behind a headscarf.
Omega19x: His face was properly marked with eyepaint, and he wore all the appropriate jewerly befitting a priest and a sacrifical offering.
Omega19x: He saw everyone gathered in the living room, and beckoned them further inside. "Thank you, my friends, for coming."
fai tiger: "Of course," Honda murmured, standing and picking up Azizi.
silverbluedreams: Mado crossed his arms, saying nothing.
Omega19x: *kuri kuri kuri kuri kuri*
silverbluedreams: Kisara nodded, not trusting her own voice at the moment.
xCrossSoulx: Atem lowered his head and was silent
Omega19x: "Please, this way." he gestured softly, to the side room where he worked most of his magic.
fai tiger: Carrying Azizi and murmuring to the furball, Honda gave Mahaado a small smile and walked in.
XEgyptiansmileX: Mana got up and walked over, not meeting Mahaado's eyes for fear of crying again.
Omega19x: The statue of Rishid stood in the center of a large spellbinding circle. A fire burned on an altar nearby, with a dagger sitting in the fire. Incense wafted around it. Offerings had been made to the gods.
ph33r my rod: As she made her way toward the room, Isis briefly glanced up at Mahaado, then looked back down at the floor, entering the room.
xCrossSoulx: Pharaoh followed the others and remained silent.
Omega19x: Mahaado knelt before the altar, and whispered prayers to Osiris and 42 gods of judgement.

silverbluedreams: Being in the room made the realization of what was about to happen hit her full on. She tried hard not to let tears fall.

Omega19x: He took hold of the knife, pricking his palms in his invocation of the gods. He asked that Anubis grant him his power, to allow the ritual to succeed.
fai tiger: Honda watched, still quietly murmuring to Azizi to keep from thinking too hard.
Omega19x: Holding it close to his heart, he entered the spellbinding circle. On a stand to his side was the sennen spellbook, opened and waiting.
Omega19x: "Circle around me, please." he whispered. "Join your hands. Mana, other me, assist the others in sending their energy. Make certain they do not send too much. Once we begin, my mind will be focused elsewhere."
silverbluedreams: Mado nodded silently and walked forward, ready to take the hands of whoever stood beside them.
Omega19x: "Friend Honda, care for Rishid when this is over."
o0firegirl0o: Mana took Mado's hand, coming to stand beside him.
silverbluedreams: Kisara walked over to Mana and took her other free hand.
ph33r my rod: Isis took a deep breath and walked up beside Kisara, taking her hand.
xCrossSoulx: And the pharaoh slipped in and took Isis' hand in silence.
Omega19x: The circle stretched around the statue and Mahaado.
fai tiger: Honda nodded, unsure what to do.
Omega19x: "I must turn the translation spell off." he added, before he started to chant. The ancient Egyptians recognized it from the Book of the Dead. He continued to pray, even though only a few could now understand him.

Omega19x: Mahaado held up the dagger. He began to read from the spellbook, in a language none of them could understand.
Omega19x: He took a moment to glance at each of them, standing together for this ritual. It would be the last time he would look upon them like this.
Omega19x: After a long pause, he pressed the dagger to his chest, the blade still warm, and started to cut into his flesh. He kept one hand stretched out, in offering to the gods and to the statue.
silverbluedreams: Kisara closed her eyes, unable to watch. Instead she kept her focus on her part in the ritual and prayed she didn't falter.
fai tiger: Honda forced himself to stand calmly between Mado and Atem, rather than react.
silverbluedreams: Mado took no notice of what his other self was doing. Instead he focused his mind on his own energy, and the energy of those around him.
Omega19x: The pain in his face was evident as he cut through the skin, but he continued, forcing himself not to notice it.
ph33r my rod: Isis looked down at the floor, her hands starting to quiver as she tried to keep her focus.
o0firegirl0o: Mana refused to look down. She bit her lip and concentrated on her energy.
Omega19x: Around them, Azizi scuttled, watching what was going on.
xCrossSoulx: The pharaoh focused only on the task at hand. He gave Isis' hand a small reassuring squeeze. As he watched what his priest was doing with eyes that didn't betrayed what he was feeling deep inside
Omega19x: Mahaado did not even pause until he felt the blade hit bone. Already, the front of his chest was covered in blood, as was his kilt. He chanted spells to focus his mind and increase his spirit's power.
Omega19x: His hands trembled as he continued. The painstaking process of cracking through his ribs was both tedius and agonizing. The blade acted as a chisel, his other hand acting as the hammer.
fai tiger: Lacking any training about his energy, Honda had nothing to focus on to keep himself calm but his own breathing and heartbeat as he quietly watched Mahaado.
Omega19x: The sorcerer was unable to hold back screams as bone cracked, muscles tore, and blood burst from his body. As the ritual continued, he started to loose his footing. It was a sign that he needed their assistance now, more than ever.
silverbluedreams: Mado managed to focus some of his own energy towards supporting Mahaado. He took Kisara's as well, feeling the deep source of power in her.
o0firegirl0o: Mana followed Mado's lead, giving a little of her energy to her master.
Omega19x: Azizi ran around the outside of the circle, nudging against the legs of those who didn't seem to want him inside of that circle.

ph33r my rod: Completely oblivious to the tears that had started falling, Isis looked up, trying to stay strong as she tried to extend her energy out.

xCrossSoulx: Atem offered his energy to help his priest. He stood there trying not to pay too much attention to the blood and the cries.
Omega19x: Mahaado continued carving, peeling back the layers of his own chest as an offering to Osiris. Even as his body weakened from the loss of blood, he could still feel his friends there, and the power of Anubis within him.
Omega19x: Most of his energy was spent keeping his hand moving, still cutting. He allowed himself to accept theirs as well.
Omega19x: Azizi poked his head through Isis legs.
silverbluedreams: Kisara put forth more of her energy, not caring if she exhausted herself.
ph33r my rod: Isis barely even noticed the ball of fur brushing against her ankles, due to her deep concentration.
fai tiger: Honda noticed however, but knew better than to walk over and pick Azizi up... even though he wanted to.
o0firegirl0o: Mana gave her energy little by little, looking away from the sight in the middle of the circle.
Omega19x: Mahaado drove the dagger deeper, falling to his knees as the blade tore through more than just muscle and bone. He gasped painfully, coughing up blood.
Omega19x: He cried as he forced hiimself to continue.
xCrossSoulx: Atem allowed his eyes to fall shut a moment as he focued on offering his full amount of enegy to Mahaado. Anything his priest would need the pharaoh would offer him without holding back at all.
silverbluedreams: Tears were pouring down Kisara's face now. It took all she had to stop herself from running to help him
fai tiger: Honda looked from Azizi to Mahaado, then back to Azizi. Since he couldn't send his own energy, he'd have to just stay calm and let Mado or one of the others take his energy if it was needed.
Omega19x: Azizi chirped like mad, running between people, trying to get through, into the circle.
fai tiger: Still watching Azizi, Honda shuffled a bit to one side to give the furball a chance to get to his master.
Omega19x: Mahaado clearly had little strength of his own left. To the magicians, his spirit could be seen clearly within his fading body, acting as he had instructed.
Omega19x: Its hand was with his, in his chest, as the blade made contact with his heart.
Omega19x: The little kuribo chirped, and before anyone knew what was going on, they all had kuribos nudging at their ankles, between their legs, and running through their legs.

fai tiger: Honda raised an eyebrow and smiled a bit. He knew what was going on even if the others didn't.

Omega19x: As Mahaado neared death, a white light appeared around his right hand. The gods were pleased. Osiris would accept his sacrifice. Instinctively, his spirit drew in the energy that was sent to it.
fai tiger: Honda tried to keep his attention on Mahaado rather than the mass of kuribos around the group.
Omega19x: The light grew, the energy kept the sorcerer's body moving, and the kuribos kept chirping. The light encompassed the statue as well.
Omega19x: Mahaado's thoughts whispered something aloud, something that sounded like... 'Azizi!' as at least a dozen or more kuribos suddenly jumped into the light.
fai tiger: Honda stared, unable to look away.
silverbluedreams: Kisara's eyes opened at the sight, puzzled as to what was going on.
ph33r my rod: Isis silently watched, unable to keep the look of shock off of her face. This was just like what had happened in her vision...
xCrossSoulx: Atem arched an eyebrow once he had opened his eyes.
Omega19x: The sudden influx of kuribos disappearing into the light caused it to grow brighter and brighter, until it reached a state hot enough to cause an explosion, throwing back absolutely everyone surounding the circle!!

fai tiger: After the explosion, Honda lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling and debating if it was a good idea to sit up or not.
silverbluedreams: Mado had the unfortunate luck to collide with a bookcase before collapsing to the ground. He groaned as he struggled to get up.
fai tiger: Honda took a mental inventory of any pains... Head hurt quite a bit, though he wasn't sure if that was from the fall or all the magic stuff. And shoulder, but that was minor and would stop soon he knew.
silverbluedreams: Finally Mado managed to sit up, only to have a loose book topple onto his head.
ph33r my rod: As she recovered from her sudden collision with the wall, Isis shook her head, trying to clear the specks of light from her vision.
fai tiger: Honda eventually decided to try sitting. He slowly pushed himself up, containing a wince over his shoulder.
xCrossSoulx: Furballs? Explosion? The pharaoh blinked as he sat up from a pile of scrolls that he was in the middle of now. He rubbed his head and then sneezed...the circle...
silverbluedreams: Kisara winced as she tried to push herself up, having hit her still-recovering shoulder rather hard.
fai tiger: Honda had total faith the ritual had worked... but looked around, just to be certain.
Omega19x: When the light vanished, Mahaado lay unresponsive, soaked in the large pool of his own blood. The dagger was still thrust in his chest. Rishid, his body now flesh and blood, lay unresponsive as well.
Omega19x: *cue Mana's screaming.*
fai tiger: Hand shaking slightly, Honda ignored the others and dug into his pocket to see if his cell phone was still intact.

Omega19x: An exhausted kuribo chirped. But neither figure in the center of the spellbinding circle moved.
fai tiger: Honda was actually thinking more rationally than usual, and was actually able to think of calling the hospital rather than having to have Isis suggest it.

fai tiger: As he waited for the other end of the line to be picked up, Honda walked slowly over to Azizi.

fai tiger: Patting Azizi lightly, Honda informed the voice on the other end of the line that an ambulance would be needed. He was still unsure what to say had happened, and kinda hoped they didn't ask right away.

Omega19x: (oh, right. They have cell phones they should check on too.)
fai tiger: (heh, suppose so)
ph33r my rod: Isis slowly moved toward the circle, still looking back-and-forth between Rishid and Mahaado. She couldn't really tell if either of them were alive, just by looking...

silverbluedreams: Shoving the book aside, Mado somehow managed to stumble to his feet. With some effort, he made his way over to his other self.
Omega19x: Rishid looked as though he had obviously seen better days. Mahaado... let's just say that was a sight most people prayed they'd never see.
xCrossSoulx: Atem finally stood up and looked around. He hadn't really been able to see anything sitting as he was amdist the pile of scrolls blocking his view. Then he looked at the circle and his eyes widened, then he covered his mouth.
fai tiger: Honda sighed and hung up the phone, then walked over. "Can we tell without moving them if they're breathing and have pulses?"
ph33r my rod: As Mado seemed to be checking up on his other self, Isis moved over to Rishid, pressing a couple of fingers to his throat to check for a pulse. "..."
silverbluedreams: "I'll check," Mado replied, carefully walking through the blood that really couldn't be avoided so as not to slip in it.
Omega19x: For Rishid, there was one. He was breating. But he was far too exhausted from the ordeal to reach consciousness.
Omega19x: But he was alive. Rishid Ishtar was ALIVE.

ph33r my rod: "He's..." Isis could hardly believe it. "Rishid's alive..."
fai tiger: Honda nodded and smiled slightly.
Omega19x: He was unconscious, frail, and weak. But he was alive.
xCrossSoulx: "And what of Mahaado?" The pharaoh asked softly as he turned and looked towards the circle looking pale.
silverbluedreams: ((*shrug*))
Omega19x: For Mahaado, which was the largest surprise, there was some indication of a pulse. It was extremely faint, highly erratic, with barely anything left to bleed. He was... also alive?
silverbluedreams: "You've got to be fucking kidding me," Mado breathed, in complete shock. He turned to the others. "There's actually a fucking pulse!"
Omega19x: Or at least, what was left of one.
silverbluedreams: ((what she said XD))
Omega19x: There wouldn't likely be one for very long, given the self-inflicted wounds.
fai tiger: Honda couldn't help but laugh quietly. He picked up Azizi and murmured, "Ya did it..." Now he just hoped the ambulance came soon...

silverbluedreams: "But all that blood, there won't be one for long," Kisara pointed out. "Isn't there anything we can do to help him?"
ph33r my rod: Isis gasped and covered her mouth in shock. "But... the ritual worked, shouldn't he... what?" She looked over at Azizi, completely baffled.

xCrossSoulx: The pharaoh was silent once more as he looked at everyone.
Omega19x: Sirens could be heard outside.

Omega19x: It would indeed be a ninteresting story, given that Mahaado basically carved a square of his own chest off, to give his hand enough space to tear out his own heart. That wound is unbelievable.

fai tiger: "Who's going along to fill out the lovely paperwork?" Honda asked the group as the paramedics did so.

Omega19x: The nurses approach the group of people that followed. "Would someone like to explain WHAT HAPPENED?!?!"

Omega19x: The nurses talk amongst themselves - one patient is severely dehydrated, almost starving. The other has the worst chest wound they've ever seen... far worse than the thief of shadow attacks!
silverbluedreams: Kisara decides to hide behind some of the others to avoid being forced to answer.

Omega19x: * Dr. Malouf comes out from behind the infamous double doors. He sees that only two of those waiting are still awake, so he motions them to go to the back.
fai tiger: Honda raises an eyebrow and looks over to Isis in mild confusion, then heads towards the back.
ph33r my rod: Isis followed after, looking just as confused, and obviously worried.
Omega19x: "I thought you would like to know that the surgery is finished. It was a gruling ordeal, but it was largely successful." he quietly whispered.
ph33r my rod: "Oh, good," she said, letting out a relieved sigh.
fai tiger: "Yeah, good," Honda repeated quietly, already waiting to know the bad news.
Omega19x: "My team was able to repair the severed arteries, and treat the pneumothorax." he added. "We've put in a chest tube to relieve pressure, and will go in in a few days to finish the surgery."
Omega19x: "He will be on mechanical ventilation for a little while, at least until the injury to his lungs has time to heal."
fai tiger: "...Okay." Honda blinked a few times at the description. "Lot better than it could have been."
ph33r my rod: Isis nodded. "Yes... we were fearing the worst."
Omega19x: "The rib fractures are another story entirely. Everything was severed, including the cartlidge. Right now, we stabalized the fractures with acetabular reconstruction plates. That alone is going to take months to heal."
Omega19x: "Normally, we wouldn't go to such lengths, but the fractures could easily have reinjured the heart and lung."
fai tiger: "...I see. Yeah, that would be bad," Honda murmured.
Omega19x: "But the wound has at least been closed. We will know more in a few days after we can proceed with the second surgery." Dr. Malouf added.
fai tiger: "Okay." Honda nodded slightly and glanced around, not knowing what else to say to that.
ph33r my rod: "Alright... thank you." Isis hesitated for a moment. "What of... Rishid? How is he doing...?"
Omega19x: "The other man they brought in?" Dr. Malouf clarified.
ph33r my rod: She nodded. "Yes... my brother."
Omega19x: "He is resting, and receiving some much needed nourishment via intravenious solution. He was quite dehydrated when he arrived. But he will be fine."
fai tiger: Honda smiled. "Good."
Omega19x: "He will likely sleep through the night, but if you want to visit him, Mr. Ishtar is up in room 904.
Omega19x: Mr. Mahaado will remain in intensive care."
ph33r my rod: "Okay..." Isis nodded again, smiling.
