Omega19x: Mahaado was becoming uncharacteristically
worried. Even with his best potions, Kafele was not
getting better. He seemed to be getting worse. Not
knowing what else to do, he eventually managed to call
the good priestess on a phone.
ph33r my rod: Isis answered the phone. "Hello?"
Omega19x: "Good priestess?" the woman on the other
end sounded like Isis, but he was so terrible with these
modern devices, he couldn't be sure.
ph33r my rod: "...Mahaado?"
Omega19x: "Ah, thank Ra I finally got it right."
Omega19x: "I do not know what to do, good priestess."
ph33r my rod: "...what is it? Is it Kafele?"
Omega19x: "Despite my potions, he is still sick. The
coughing has become worse, and the fever rising again."
Mahaado sounded uncharacteristically anxious. "I am
scared. I have fought shadow demons and never been
this frightened! But I am scared..."
ph33r my rod: Isis thought for a moment. "Okay, first off,
try to stay calm... I'm sure there's a way to help him.
Perhaps you could try some form of over-the-counter
remedy? I know they make some specifically for
children..."
Omega19x: "The spoiled brat brought something when
he visited Kafele last night."
ph33r my rod: "...I honestly wouldn't trust anything that
Mokuba provides."
Omega19x: "The potions should work, and work well. I
have cast all the proper spells." Mahaado paced in
Honda's kitchen.
Omega19x: "When I worked in the potion shop, my flu
remedies were highly sought after. Kafele should be
feeling better, not feeling worse."
ph33r my rod: "That is strange..." Isis was worried now,
too. "Maybe whatever Mokuba gave him clashed with what
you gave him, somehow? That's happened before; one of
Mana's happiness potions had a bad reaction with Ryou's
medicine, and it got pretty bad, from what I remember.
Maybe something like that's happening to him...?"
Omega19x: "No, this bottle is unopened." Mahaado
contested. "Though he ate some of the spoiled brat's
candy."
Omega19x: "In the name of Sakmet, I do not know
what to do. Even the small rash on his forehead has
started to turn into a bigger rash elsewhere on his face."
ph33r my rod: "...I'm not sure what else to tell you,
Mahaado. Maybe you could try taking on his symptoms one
at a time? Get that fever down, and then try getting rid of
the coughing?"
Omega19x: "Yes." he answered the priestess. How he
disliked being in such a panic. "The cool bath helped
before."
ph33r my rod: "Alright, then that might be the best thing
to do at this point. If you can just keep that fever down,
then maybe it'll be easier to get rid of the rest of his
symptoms..."
Omega19x: "Yes. I can prepare a chest rub, with
various herbs, that may help with the coughing."
Mahaado sighed. "I just wish for him to recover."
ph33r my rod: "I know... just keep trying. That's the best
advice that I can give..."
Omega19x: In the background she could hear the sound
of a child calling out for Mahaado. "Thank you, priestess.
I need to go, now."
ph33r my rod: "Alright. I hope he feels better soon..."
Omega19x: "Thank you."
Omega19x: He hung up the phone, and went back to
tend to Kafele. The little magician, as sick as he felt,
couldn't sleep.
