Omega19x: Yuki was quite excited. She had been helping Ryou ever since he came home from work to make cream puffs for Isis' visit. She picked out the flavor - blueberry puffs, and she did most of the baking... err... well, she did most of the spoon licking.
ph33r my rod: Malik came into the kitchen, hanging up his cellphone. "She's on her way over now. How are the puffs coming?"
Omega19x: "We're just putting them in the oven." Ryou smiled. "Stand back, Yuki. It's hot..."
Omega19x: "I can't wait to see Auntie Isis!"
ph33r my rod: Malik grinned and ruffled Yuki's hair. "She'll be here soon. She wants to see us, too."
Omega19x: "Yay!!"
Omega19x: "Have you made the tea, Malik?"
ph33r my rod: "Yeah, it's done." Malik motioned to the teapot sitting on the table.
Omega19x: "...Oh! Silly me... I didn't even look."
ph33r my rod: Malik patted Ryou's shoulder, chuckling a little. "Well, it's there."
Omega19x: "Yuki. Why don't you set the table with your favorite plates? We want everything to look nice for Auntie Isis..."
Omega19x: "Okay!" and she scrambled off to the cabinets, pushing over a chair to get some plates down.
Omega19x: "... I am so thankful for your sister, Malik. Yuki wouldn't be here without her."
ph33r my rod: Malik nodded and smiled. "Yeah... even after this long, I still don't know how to repay her for everything she's done for us."
Omega19x: "with gratitude."
Omega19x: "... it is a good start..."
Omega19x: 'Table's set!" Yuki cheered, and ran to the window to look for Isis to come up.
ph33r my rod: "Right... although you know, if it were up to her, she would say 'oh, you don't have to repay me'. She always does." Malik smiled over at Yuki. "It looks good over there!"
Omega19x: "Thanks Daddy Malik!"
Omega19x: "When's she coming? I don't see her yet!"
ph33r my rod: "She'll be here any minute now."
ph33r my rod: Sure enough, after a few minutes, Isis' car pulled up in the driveway.
Omega19x: "I think I see her! I think I see her!!!"
ph33r my rod: "Well, let's go outside and say hi to her." Malik took Yuki's hand.
Omega19x: Yuki took hold of Malik's hand instantly!
Omega19x: Ryou, meanwhile, was taking puffs out of the oven, and starting to fill them with blueberry cream.
ph33r my rod: Malik grinned over at Ryou, already smelling the fresh blueberry puffs, and then headed outside with Yuki to greet Isis.
Omega19x: "Auntie Isis! Auntie Isis!!"
ph33r my rod: Isis was just getting out of her car. She shut the door and looked up, smiling. "Hello!"
Omega19x: Yuki pulled her hand free, and ran out to give her aunt a big hug.
ph33r my rod: Isis leaned down to give Yuki an equally big hug. After a few moments, she pulled back to look at her. "Goodness, every time I see you, it seems like you've grown a bit more."
Omega19x: "I'm a big puff now!"
ph33r my rod: Isis smiled and took Yuki's hand, looking up at Malik. "Ryou was right in saying that she's a 'crumb off the old puff'."
ph33r my rod: "That's an understatement if I ever heard one." Malik grinned back at her. "Come on in, Ryou's finishing up some puffs now." They headed back inside the house.
Omega19x: Ryou just put a big basket of puffs on the table, and was pouring glasses of tea for everyone. "Hello, Isis... so nice to see you again."
ph33r my rod: Isis walked over to give Ryou a short hug in greeting. "It has been a while, hasn't it?"
Omega19x: "... we've all been so very busy lately."
ph33r my rod: "...oh, don't I know it. I've had to oversee two new store openings in the last month."
Omega19x: "Creamylicious is getting more popular than ever too... It's hard to believe it."

ph33r my rod: "And Malik, your books? You've gotten quite popular with those."

ph33r my rod: Malik smirked. "You flatter me, Isis."
Omega19x: Ryou just giggled.
ph33r my rod: Isis looked down at Yuki, who was still attached to her side. "And Yuki? How have you been doing?"
Omega19x: "Daddy Ryou took me to a yoga class this past weekend. And next week, we're going shopping for a new school uniform for me since I'm growing up so fast, and look! I made puffs!!" she paused. "Well... I helped make puffs."
ph33r my rod: Isis glanced over at the puffs sitting on the table. "They look wonderful."
Omega19x: "... Have a seat, please... No need for the puffs or the tea to get cold."
ph33r my rod: "Oh, we wouldn't want that to happen. Thank you." She smiled and sat down at the table.
Omega19x: Ryou took a couple puffs and passed the basket down the table.
ph33r my rod: Isis took a few puffs and continued to pass the basket around. "...ah, blueberry puffs. Did you pick these out, Yuki?"
Omega19x: "I sure did!"
ph33r my rod: "Blueberry's one of the more popular flavors, isn't it, Ryou?" Malik put a couple on his plate.
Omega19x: "Especially this time of year."
ph33r my rod: "It's a good summer flavor." Isis took a bite. "Mm. Good as always..."
Omega19x: Yuki just smiled. She was glad she picked out blueberry.
Omega19x: "How has everything been, Isis?"
ph33r my rod: "It's been busy, but enjoyable. I spent most of last week in Fukuoka helping to open one of the new stores. And before that, we had one in Sapporo before that, so I've had to travel all over Japan recently. At the rate we're going, we're estimating that we'll have at least four more shops open up by the end of the year."
Omega19x: "... that HAS been busy!"
ph33r my rod: Isis nodded. "Yes... the last two openings have been on complete opposite ends of the county, so there's been so much travel in-between them, that I've barely had time to breathe."
Omega19x: (*yaaaaawn*)
